ATLANTA STYLE REPORT

A hot look in Atlanta for fall/winter 2011 is the skinny jean tucked inside knee-high riding boots. Most popular are indigo to medium blue denim. Although blue jeans are in style, I did spot a young lady sporting slim jeans, knee-high boots and a tunic top in gray. For a pop of color, she accessorized the look with a black handbag embellished with colorful Japanese graphics. I tried to take her photo, but I was behind the wheel and already unhappy about not being able to find a parking space at Lenox Square Mall. Another local style is layering leggings under a short dress or tunic in lieu of wearing tights.

Also in style are knit ski caps with flaps, scarves and wool pea and quilted coats, What I'm not seeing as much are leather jackets. At one time, leather was a mainstay in Atlanta. Now, people are opting for wool.
